Score 90+ means send it. 70-89 — fix the critical missing fields (attrition, cancellation, room block, F&B, deadline) before sending; everything else can be in the contract phase. Below 70 — pause and rebuild; the clarification emails will cost more time than fixing the brief now.

What are the 5 critical fields?
Attrition allowance, cancellation curve, room block + nights, F&B needs, and response deadline + format. Missing any of these blocks comparable hotel responses.
Why are weights different?
Attrition and cancellation are weighted heaviest (10 each) because they're the contract clauses that cause the most post-signing pain. Easy add-ons like 'comp rooms asked' weigh less.
Should I share my scoring criteria with hotels?
Yes — transparent scoring (e.g. 'we score on rate, attrition, F&B min, location, sustainability') gets hotels to push on the right levers.
What if my event is too small to need all 14 fields?
Below 30 pax / 1 night, you can skip force majeure and VAT (still useful). Everything else applies.
Can I customise the field weights?
