Gustavo Borges is the founder of Easy RFP, a hotel sourcing platform built specifically for European MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) planners and corporate event teams. He started Easy RFP after a decade of running corporate events and watching the same workflow play out hundreds of times: a planner emails 8 hotels, copies replies into a spreadsheet by hand, loses two days normalising rate formats, and still ends up signing the wrong contract because the attrition clause was buried on page 14.

His core thesis is that hotel sourcing in Europe is structurally broken — not by lack of inventory, but by lack of data symmetry. Planners go into negotiations blind: no benchmark for the city, no view of comparable corporate rates, no read on which clauses are negotiable in which markets. Hotels know all of this. The gap is what funds 3–8% of the typical corporate travel budget that quietly leaks every year.

Easy RFP exists to close that gap. The product automates the parallel-RFP, normalises responses across currencies and rate types, scores hotels on planner-set weights (sustainability, BAFO appetite, attrition flexibility, room block discipline), and surfaces the negotiation language that actually moves rates in the EU market. Gustavo writes most of the long-form content on this site — every guide, contract decoder, and city benchmark goes through his desk before it ships. The bar is honest data over hot takes: if a number isn't sourced, it doesn't run.
